What foods should I avoid after a teeth whitening treatment?
A teeth whitening or teeth bleaching treatment is a fantastic way to touch up your smile, and if you’ve had a recent whitening treatment, you want the results to last.
We, in fact, use KoR deep bleaching for optimal and lasting results!
At East Cooper Smiles, we recommend avoiding certain foods and drinks—not only to optimize the longevity of your teeth whitening treatment, but also to avoid stains in general.
In addition to avoiding certain foods and drinks, brushing and flossing twice daily and keeping future dental cleaning appointments are key when it comes to maintaining your results.
Avoid these foods and drinks to maintain your bright new smile:
- Coffee, tea, dark wines or other colored beverages may lead to new stains
- Fruit juice or acidic drinks can erode enamel, which makes teeth look worn and not as bright
- Pasta sauce, soy sauce, and other dark saucy-type foods
This doesn’t mean you can’t indulge in your favorite pasta sauces or have a cup of coffee. Moderation, however, is important. Also, remember to brush and floss after eating or drinking things that may cause dental stains.
Our custom teeth whitening trays can be taken home. This means you can whiten your teeth on your own time, a helpful consideration if you’ve gone to an event and indulged in all your favorite teeth-staining foods and drinks.
