How We Keep Patients Safe and Secure
As we begin to reopen our Mount Pleasant, SC dental office, patients may notice a few safety protocol changes during their next dental appointment.
At East Cooper Smiles, Dr. Jason Annan and his entire dental practice work hard to strictly follow all ADA recommendations.
Everyone on staff will be wearing N-95 masks, face shields, and gowns. Our dental team is happy to go over how our use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) works and contributes to the safety of our patients and staff.
We will continue to sterilize all dental equipment as we have before, between each appointment. We take special care to disinfect all surfaces, door handles, and any areas of contact as recommended by the CDC on top of our already strict standards.
Additionally, we limit the number of patients we have in the dental office at any time and stagger them to avoid overcrowding. Only patients with an appointment can enter our dental office; we politely ask that spouses or friends wait outside. We also ask that patients agree to temperature checks upon entering our dental clinic—we also ask our staff. We will designate separate doors for entrances and exits to minimize patient contact.
We provide hand sanitizer or hand-washing stations for patients to use as a cautionary measure. For the ongoing safety of our patients, we have removed all magazines and children's toys from the waiting room.
These and other factors are implemented to reduce the risk of spreading and infection.
